Deynego: If Ukraine decides to occupy LPR demilitarized areas

02:01, 01.10.2016

Vladislav Deynego, the LPR representative in the Contact Group, explained what would happen if the Ukrainian military tried to occupy the territories which the LPR military are to leave on October 1st, in the framework of agreements on the bilateral separation of the forces.

‘In Minsk, the separation of forces and means was agreed. It implies that there are currently created the first three sections where there would be absolutely no armed persons. On either side. This is one of the main conditions of the framework decision signed on September 21,’ he said.

According to him, if any of the sides takes the liberated territory, it will be a direct violation of the Minsk Agreements.

‘This (occupying the liberated territory by any side) will be a clear manifestation of the lack of desire to peacefully resolve the conflict in Donbass. In fact, it can be used as an excuse for taking fairly austere measures to the side that has violated the agreement,’ said Vladislav Deynego.
