The Armed Forces of Ukraine have announced a large-scale gathering of military operational reserve, which will be held in five regions. It was announced by the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

‘During September 2016, there will be involved 9 brigades of all operational commands in the five regions. Over 8 thousand reservists will be called up, with 10 percent of them officers. The gathering will take place in two stages: one from 3 to 15 September, the other from 12 from 24 September,’ said the statement of the Ministry.

According to the press service, the main purpose of the exercises is to develop a mechanism of operational re-staffing of units and formations with the operational reserve force ‘in case of a blatant aggression’.
