At the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the power unit N 6 was disconnected from the grid. This was reported by the press service of the nuclear power plant. 

‘On April 18, 2017, at 19.52, the power unit N 6 of the Zaporozhye NPP was disconnected from the grid,’ the press service said. 

It is noted that there are four power units at the Zaporozhye NPP still working. 

‘The radiation background in the area of the location of the Zaporozhye NPP and in the sanitary protection zone is 8-12 microrentgen per hour, which corresponds to the natural radiation background,’ the press service emphasized. 

It is reported that at present the reasons for the automation shutting down the unit are being clarified.
