Poroshenko called on world leaders not to recognize elections to State Duma of Russia

According to the website of the Ukrainian leader, at the meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the European Union, the President of Ukraine Poroshenko urged the international community not to recognize the elections to the State Duma of Russia, which will be held in the Crimea.

‘The President also urged not to recognize the legitimacy of parliamentary elections in Russia, which Moscow is trying to hold ... in the Crimea and Sevastopol,’ said the statement.

Poroshenko also said that on the peninsula ‘the human rights situation is catastrophically deteriorating’, including the use of the Soviet-style medicine.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed, in a telephone conversation, the provision of security by Kiev of Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine before the elections to the State Duma.
