The discussion of the document on the separation of the troops in Donbass, the first in the history of the conflict, has been put in motion. It was stated by Denis Pushilin, the head of the DPR delegation in the Contact Group.

‘There are changes, I believe they are positive. There is a chance that the document can be verified. The document has been discussed fora long time, about three months, but finally, we have been able to move the process forward,’ - he said.

According to him, the signing of the document can secure compliance with the ceasefire and to ‘shift the situation from the truce to peace’.

'Today, we saw, say, other representatives of Ukraine, they were set to the result, which we had not seen in them for a long time. As a result, after some clarifications, Ukraine said yes to a compromise proposal. The Republics are sufficiently satisfied with this document in this form,’ added Pushilin.

‘If the document is initialed today, the next step will be its signing by the Heads of the Republics (Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky) and representatives of Ukraine,’ summed up the Donetsk politician.

The DPR insists on the early signing of the agreement on the separation of the parties in Donbass. It is expected that the document, binding the parties, for the first time in the history of the conflict, to withdraw the personnel at a number of segments of the front (Petrovskoye (DPR), Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye (LPR)), will help relieve the tension in the region and, consequently, reduce the number of attacks on cities and towns.
