The Ukrainian parliament has approved the bill No. 5313, providing for the introduction of a 75% mandatory quota for the use of the Ukrainian language on television. 

In the second reading, 269 MPs have voted in support of the document, with the necessary 226. 

It should be noted that the Main Scientific and Expert Department of the Verkhovnaya Rada made a number of comments on the bill, noting, in particular, that the PACE in its resolution «The Functioning of Democratic Institutions in Ukraine» had expressed concern over the narrowing of the linguistic rights of the national minorities.
