The Ukrainian MPs deputies seem to have decided to give out a surprise to foreign countries every season. In summer, they shocked the Orthodox world, having addressed the Ecumenical Patriarch with a request to grant an autocephaly to the «Kiev Patriarchate» given anathema by the canonical Orthodoxy. In autumn they are offering Europe to follow the example of heroic Ukrainians who are already freezing in their apartments, although the winter has not come yet. That is, the freezing Ukrainians were not asked whether they want to freeze in the apartments, but Europeans are bound to like the prospect of cooking first meals in a boiler.

The Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine is going to adopt next week a resolution calling for the EU to halve the supply of Russian gas and oil, as well as to suspend the implementation of the project of the gas pipeline «Nord Stream-2». According to the «Izvestia», the initiator of the document is Anna Gopko, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs committee, and the justification for the adoption of the document, according to the author, is ‘the Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine and in Aleppo, which must be stopped’.

‘The forced reduction of gas supplies and the suspension of implementation of the infrastructure project «North Stream-2» will be, according to Ukrainian parliamentarians, a deterrent for Russia. It is noteworthy that a number of European politicians also regard the suspension of the project «North Stream-2» as one of the measures in the event of the introduction of the next package of anti-Russian sanctions. 

However, it is not clear, in the context of such constraints, how Ukraine itself will survive the winter as, on the eve of the most severe winter in the last 100 years (according to the forecasts of experts), the country has not stocked the required volumes of either gas or coal,’ writes the «Izvestia». Even in the capital, the «Naftogaz Ukraine» blocked the «Kyivenergo» accounts in the court, and the latter did not have time to carry out repairs of heating systems. As a result, many residents of apartment houses in Kiev have to live now with cold radiators.

Residents of the European Union are very skeptical about a possible proposal of the Ukrainian parliamentarians.

‘Firstly, in Europe, the communal sphere has long equipped with the most efficient use of energy resources. Secondly, only Ukrainians can warm up jumping on the Maidan around burning tires. It is difficult to imagine a modern civilized German galloping and swearing Putin,’ wrote users of social networks.
