The Ukrainian TV channel ‘1 + 1» appealed to the President of Ukraine Poroshenko and the Prime Minister Groisman with a statement about the planned attempt of a raider seizure of the channel.

According to the appeal of the channel management to the authorities, the National Council on Television and Radio does not extend the license of the «1 + 1» for broadcasting, which expires on December 29th.

‘We are surprised and concerned that the National Council, whose members are appointed directly by the President and the Verkhovnaya Rada, is delaying the process of execution of its own decisions (to extend the license - Ed.) ... The last two weeks, we obtain information from various sources about an attempt to cancel the decision and implement raider seizure of the channel,’ said the statement posted on the site of the channel.

The channel management assumes that the instruction on the delaying process of issuing the license, is received by the National Council on TV from Poroshenko’s administration which is interested in ‘transferring control over the canal to the other hands’.
