In Genichesk, the Kherson region, the head of the SPAS party, Eduard Kovalenko, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment under the Article 114-1 «Counteraction to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a special period». 

Kovalenko is accused of opposing the war in Donbass and trying to prevent sending the troops to the zone of the so-called ATO in 2014. 

‘Poroshenko and his entire suite are criminals, the killers of their own people. They unleashed the war in Donbas. 

I remain at my opinion, I am for peace. 

The ATO is illegal and justice will soon come. You all will answer for these atrocities,’ said Kovalenko in his last speech.
