The construction of the complex American missile defense system has begun in the Polish village of Redzikowo. Officially, the construction will begin on May 13, but now there is already being carried out the preparatory work. It is planned that the base will be operational in 2018.

The base will be operated by a maximum of 300 foot soldiers and civilians. The most important elements of the system, that is a radar and a launcher SM-3, should be provided by the company AMEC Programs Inc., located in the state of Georgia (USA).

The contract for the construction of a base in the Polish village of Redzikowo was signed in February 2016. The contract value amounted to more than 182 million dollars.
