According to the press service of the LPR People’s Militia, on December 18, 2016, units of the 54th brigade of the AFU attempted a breakthrough from the direction of the locality of Luganskoye in the direction of the locality of Kalinovka. 

‘Today, the Ukrainian Nazi punishers have once again attempted to break through from the direction of the locality of Luganskoye in the direction of the locality of Kalinovka. Picking up the shelling, they started provoking us to aggressive actions. According to our intelligence, the commanders of units of the aggressor were in a state of alcoholic intoxication,’ said the representative of the People's Militia, Andrey Marochko.

At 13.00 the position of the LPR People’s Militia units were subjected to provocative bombardments. 

Under their artillery fire, the enemy advanced a reconnaissance group. Seeking to build on their success, the enemy intensified the fire impact on our positions. Through concerted actions of the LPR People’s Militia units and able leadership of the commanders, we managed to stop and push back the enemy. 

As a result of the clash, the LPR People’s Militia lost two men wounded and two missing. The enemy’s losses are about 10 men killed and over 20 wounded. During the clash, there were also destroyed 2 enemy infantry fighting vehicles.
