The date of the elections to the local authorities on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic will be discussed with the international mediators, said the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko.

‘As for a specific date, we will discuss it with the international mediators, and first of all with Russia. Of course, we can not wait forever, sooner or later, Kiev will have to comply with the Minsk Agreements. There is no alternative to this. If they can not do it on their own, let them ask for help of their supervisors from across the ocean. Americans ... will make them adopt the necessary laws in the Ukrainian parliament. And then we’ll do everything ourselves,’ said Zakharchenko.

Zakharchenko also added that after the preliminary public vote, the Republican authorities are fully prepared for holding the local elections.

‘Now, after we successfully held the primaries, we can safely look ahead and declare that we are ready to hold the elections to the local authorities at any time ... So now it's up to the Ukrainian side. It is Kiev that slows down the process and demonstrates the lack of political will to implement the Minsk Agreements and move towards a political settlement of our conflict with them,’ concluded the Head of the DPR.
