A volunteer of the ATO zone, Ilya Lysenko, said that among the Ukrainian military, there is a huge number of bandits who committed crimes against civilians.

Lysenko said it in an interview with the magazine «Kraina» («Country»).

‘Among our military, there are many bandits and even criminals. The army is a reflection of the society.

When we entered Debaltsevo, the level of the population’s support was about 50 percent. When we left the city, it was 20. While they were holding the city, we saw everything: houses and apartments looted by the military, fuel stations, tire fitting stations dismantled and removed during the night. They drank a lot. Sometimes they shot at civilians. There were also rapes,’ the volunteer admitted.

At the same time, he claims that after the defeat and retreat of the AFU from Debaltsevo, ‘everything has become much worse there’.
