01:52, 11.11.2016

According to the American web resource www.military.com, the US Army and Air Force have completed a delivery to their warehouses in Europe the largest party of munitions in the past two decades. Over 620 containers of munitions were delivered by sea from the USA to the German port of Nordenham (Bremerhaven) and are now transported by rail to the Miesau US Army Depot stores in Bruchmühlbach-Miesau (Rhineland-Palatinate), near the French border. The transportation is carried out by the 838th ytansport battalion of the American Army.

The replenishing of ammunition depots of the US Armed Forces in Europe is considered as one of the measures to ‘curb Russian aggression’ and intended to improve the combat readiness of the US forces in Europe. One of the main purposes of the ammunition replenishment is to provide the ammunition to the 3rd Armored Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division of the US Army, which in January 2017, will be transferred, on a rotational basis and as a part of the operation «Atlantic Resolve», to Europe from their place of dislocation in Fort Carlson (Colorado) in the United States. The brigade command will be deployed in Poland, and the its units will be spread across seven countries, from Estonia to Bulgaria.
