The area of the locality of Pesky is now one of the hottest spots on the Donetsk front. The positions of the DPR and Kiev military here are divided by some couple of hundred meters. 

Since the morning of February 18, the AFU have been intensely shelling the positions of the DPR military, currently the fierce fighting is underway near the locality of Pesky, where the AFU are attempting to attack on the DPR army position. 

The Ukrainian military are trying to drive a wedge into the DPR defensive line. If they manage to get through, the AFU will be able to bring artillery closer to Donetsk and shell the entire city. Therefore, the defenders can not afford such a development of the situation.

Local residents as a human shield, it is very convenient. Even though it is a direct violation of the Minsk Agreements, as there are to be no weapons in the vicinity of the locality, either light or heavy. After all, the contact line runs directly on the outskirts of Pesky.
