BBC told off Ukrainian politicians again concerning Civil War

00:19, 16.05.2016

The British broadcaster BBC informed Ukrainian MPs that, to cover the conflict in Donbass, it would use terms which it deems necessary, including the "civil war".

It was reported by the press service of the BBC.

'The use of the term "civil war" does not mean that the BBC takes whoever's side because we are committed to accurate, impartial and objective coverage of the conflict in Ukraine,' says the statement of an employee of the press service.

Earlier, Svetlana Zalishchuk, the chairman of the subcommittee on the Euro-Atlantic cooperation and European integration of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Verkhovnaya Rada, wrote on her Facebook page that MPs of the Verkhovnaya Rada had asked the BBC Broadcasting Corporation not to use the term "civil war" in relation to the conflict in the east of the country.
