Dear fellow citizens! 

Since December 18, the military situation in the Debaltsevo direction has deteriorated.

The AFU units, units of the National Guard of Ukraine under the Nazi punitive battalions, without declaring the end of the ceasefire and any claims, made over 20 attacks on the positions of our People's Militia. At the same time, they actively used artillery and heavy armored vehicles, which, according to the agreements signed in Minsk, are to be stored in the places of their permanent deployment, under the supervision of the OSCE monitoring mission.

The DPR and LPR People's Militia units, acting consistently, efficiently and decisively, have successfully repelled all the attacks. The aggressor has retreated to their initial positions, bearing heavy losses in manpower and equipment. Unfortunately, we have also lost our men, wounded and killed.

Of particular concern is the fact that, contrary to the internationally accepted rules and customs of war, Kiev-controlled armed groups are trying to shell residential houses and peaceful localities. Only by sheer luck, so far there have been no casualties among the civilian population.

The situation in the Debaltsevo direction has not yet stabilized. However, it is now clear that the next attempt of a blitzkrieg has failed. About 150 Ukrainian soldiers have paid with their lives and health for Poroshenko’s adventurism. The Ukrainian military and political authorities understand that we are aware of all their plans. That is why representatives of the Kiev regime agreed at the meeting of the Contact group in Minsk on the resumption of the ceasefire from December 24.

All responsibility for the escalation of bloodshed in Donbass lies personally with (the President of Ukraine Petr) Poroshenko. After a lasting truce, we will calculate the damage done to us by the illegal and unconstitutional actions of the armed groups, controlled by Poroshenko, and present a corresponding claim to Kiev. And those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, will answer for their crimes to the fullest extent of the internationally recognized norms and laws.
