The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Gennady Vorobyev died suddenly at his workplace. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Svyatoslav Tsegolko. 

‘Suddenly. One of the leaders of the Ukrainian army, Colonel-General Gennady Vorobyev died at the workplace. He commanded at the forefront in 2014-2016,’ wrote Tsegolko on his Facebook page. 

The cause of death of the head of the National Defense University and the deputy head of the General Staff, is not specified. 

The President Poroshenko expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
