Timoshenko, Firtash and Akhmetov recruit right radicals for the autumn

The influence groups controlling the Ukrainian trade unions are interested in bringing to their side right-wing radicals, which is evidenced by the joint action in Kiev, held by the trade unions and the Civil Corps "Azov".

Such an opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kiev by Ruslan Bortnik, the Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, who noted that the Ukrainian trade unions are controlled by three groups of influence.

'Relatively speaking, these are Tymoshenko's group, a group of Firtash and, partly, a group of Akhmetov. All these groups, in one way or another, do not have a sufficient power support. Their political representatives enjoy electoral support and they also have the media, but they lack the power shoulder. We saw Timoshenko supporting the "Svoboda" in the situation with throwing a grenades near the Verkhovnaya Rada, and then supporting the "Ukrop". People controlling the trade unions are interested today in attracting the right-wing radicals, any paramilitary radicals. This will allow them to come fully armed to some key events this autumn and winter,' said the expert.

At the same time, the analyst noted that 'the "Azov" should not be linked exclusively to the Interior Minister Avakov'.

'In the "Azov", there are at least two groups of influence, which are equally using the brand of the "Civil Corps of Azov". So, not everything in the "Azov" may be consistent with Avakov, the "People's Front" and the Ministry of Interior,' says Bortnik.
