We live in an interesting world, where the word «interesting» is an euphemism for the word «twisted». Like tolerance has become an euphemism for unscrupulousness. Like enlightenment has become an euphemism for immorality. Like objectivity has become an euphemism for heartlessness.
The objectivity on the Donbass issue wants to hear that both sides of the conflict were not entirely right.
That Donbass was wrong to rebel against the central authorities, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that those authorities had come to power through a coup d’etat.
That Donbass had no right to hold the referendum without a permission of Ukraine, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that in 1991, Ukraine had declared its independence from the USSR three months before the referendum about it.
That the Donbass militia are killing the Ukrainian soldiers in the same way as the latter are killing the former, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that it was the Kiev authorities that had sent, in April 2014, the regular army against unarmed civilians of Donbass, rallying only for the federalization of the country at that time.
That Russia sends to Donbass military help of all kinds, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that the West officially allocated billions of dollars for military assistance of Ukraine, the other side of the conflict.
That Ukraine is allegedly fighting for its sovereignty and integrity of its territory, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that the Ukrainian army daily destroys homes and vital infrastructure on presumably its own territory.
That Donbass had no right to take Ukrainian enterprises under its control, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that the Kiev authorities had imposed the total blockade on Donbass in late 2014, depriving its citizens of postal and bank services, salaries and pensions, as well as delivery of all necessities, that it was the President of «united» Ukraine who said at that time, ‘Their children will stay in basements while our children will go to schools and kindergartens!’.
That Donbass is wrong to want to join Russia, though the objectivity thoroughly forgets that it is Russia, and only Russia, that has been sending to Donbass, for over two years, food, and medicine, and toys and school books for children, and building materials to restore everything that the Ukrainian army has been destroying all this time.
Curiously enough, it is the objectivity that speaks about a possible «payback» that a great many Ukrainians do not deserve. That is. the objectivity lets it slip that Donbass might just return what has been done to it.
Having been surviving in the living hell for almost three years, Donbass does not wish it to anybody, especially ordinary Ukrainians.
Including Ukrainian regular soldiers, who had a choice to join the army or go to jail for evading military service, who write on their shells, before launching them on civilian localities, «The best for children!», record it and proudly post such videos in social networks.
Including Ukrainian mothers who have repeatedly come out to meetings, demanding that their sons not be sent home from the front but, on the contrary, given better weapons - to kill residents of Donbass.
Donbass does not wish this living hell to anybody because the people pf Donbass knows what it means to fight for your very life. The objectivity does not survive in such a fight. So, Donbass knows the main difference between two sides of the conflict.
This simple difference is that not a single soldier of the Republics of Donbass has destroyed a single home or killed a single child in western and central Ukraine.
Which can not be said about the other side, whose hands are forever stained with blood of 101 Donbass children.
